Ephemeral is an interactive light installation designed to be situated inside a shipping container. The main objectives of our space is to create an exploration, stimulate our audience\'s sense of sight, hearing, and touch when the user interacts with the bubble wrap.

Our interactive space is designed with bubble wrap filled walls that imitates the shape of caves. The users interact with the space by popping the bubble wrap, which will then trigger a sensor that emits a blue light. We want to leave the users with the experience of instant gratification by using the action of popping bubble wrap with the reaction of sound and light.

We chose to use bubble wrap for this project because it is a humble material that everyone could easily relate to regardless of their age. Bubble wrap has always been something that was easily accessible to us from a young age. Without any instructions, it was instinctively known to squeeze it between our fingers.
Blue LED lights were used to create a sense of surprise. Other lightweight and humble materials were used in layers with the bubble wrap to diffuse the LED light to create an ambient effect.
